Trip to the Zoo

Whats up! Hows everyone doing this week? Hope things are good back home! Because things are pretty great on this end.   First off, the weather is absolutely gorgeous for the past couple of days. I've never experienced a real spring like this before!!! Usually just muddy snow and cold, but seriously, it feels like summer. Almost too hot some days, but I'm not complaining!!! With that everything's going well out here!

First off, we went to the zoo!!! One of our investigators (Zsofi) invited us to go with her, and that was super awesome. They had tigers, zebras, chimps, giraffes and everything!!! It was a ton of fun. We even got to pet some of them, because Hungary doesn't really have a whole lot of safety regulations, so we pet a giraffe and some camel and goats. It was super sick.

Then, on saturday, when of the guys from English class (super awesome guy by the way, and speaks perfect english) invited us to a giant cook out in his village where they roasted an entire cow or bull or something. It was super fun, they had food, music, and plays around this beautiful pond, and they even brought out a miniture pony! #lilsebastion Super good time, and got to meet some cool people.

So those were the exciting moments of the week. Last night we went to a members house (Barbs) with our investigator (Janka) and the other missionaries.

Other than that, things are good. Excited for the summer, and excited to talk with the family in just a couple of weeks! Thanks for all the support and everything! Love you all lots and have a great week!

Love,
Andrew

From last week's email...  I had my birthday and that was lots of fun. Played soccer, went to the mall and made palacsintas (basically crepes) with the other elders.

What's Up

What's up!

The weather is turning beautiful, and the streets are filling up with people and tourists, so the city looks great! Things are all going really well out here but not that much exciting this week.   We still spend a lot of time with the kids. The other day we were in the branch house talking while they were playing outside (yes, we are basically their parents) and we walk out to find them with a bunch of chairs from inside stacked up by the tree trying to climb up it. They are a lot to deal with sometimes, but also lots of fun. Didn't think I would have to worry about kids on my mission though...

So other than that things are going well. The other elders have a car now, so that's pretty sick. We get to cruise around with them sometimes which is pretty awesome. Sorry not too much else is exciting. Hope everything is good with everyone back at home!!! Love you all lots and have a good week.

Easter in Hungary

We had transfers on Wednesday, so that's always fun. I got to see all my friends in BP so that's cool, and I got my new companion Elder Kellogg (yes, as in the corn flakes).  It's cool because we came to the country together, so we can joke about the MTC, but we also sometimes have no idea what we're doing.  So it's a good experience!
Conference was super great!  I loved it, even though it was pretty hard to understand. I actually got to watch one session in English, and I really enjoyed Elder Bednars talk, but the rest was in Hungarian, and it was tough. The language is coming along pretty well. I can basically converse with people and do most of what I need, but still a lot of stuff I don't know. But conference is so much harder. I can understand decently, but I REALLY have to focus hard. So it's so much easier to tune out, but it was good. Really enjoyed it!

Love Easter Sunday, a great chance to remember the amazing sacrifice of our Savior and that he truly has risen and lives. I have such a strong testimony of that.  Hungary has some pretty interesting traditions. So Easter goes for two days, Sunday and Monday, and for some reason, on Monday, the guys are supposed to spray the girls with perfume, and the girls are supposed to give guys colored eggs.... It's honestly pretty hilarious. Some old man got mad at the sisters because they didn't give us anything. Gotta love Hungarian traditions!!!!

Everything is awesome. Great people that we're meeting with, and really love Győr. Super awesome place and hope that I can stay here for a long time!!! Sorry emails have been lame recently, but things have been pretty weird. Also, left my SD card at home, so I don't have any pictures except for this one.

Everyone at transfers was jealous of our swag

Have a good week.
