<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Those of you who have welcomed a missionary home know that this day has been on the calendar for a very very long time! So waiting for said missionary's arrival can be painfully slow.... especially when traveling from Hungary to Bangor Maine... especially when the missionary travel department books the flight to Maine through Chicago .... all the way across Western Europe, the Atlantic Ocean then half way across America and back again... you see what I mean. Add to that a planned layover of 5 hours and a 4 hour flight delay... yup you get the picture.... So here's what we did while we waited.... </span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Hey for the last time!!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Seriously, feels pretty unreal to think that this is the last missionary email! The last little bit really sneaks up on you! When I think that this week I'm gonna be back home it doesn't even seem real! It seems like this is the only life I know, and yet it also feels not that long ago that we first said goodbye! Weird how time flies :P</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">We are actually going to be pretty busy for the last week. a lot of members have invited us over for our last week, so we won't be bored! We also have zone training tomorrow, so we will be going up to Budapest. Other than that, just getting ready to go back! Packing and cleaning out the apartment and what not. I still have a good amount to do before we go home, but we have the rest of the week! We go up to Budapest friday morning, and then Saturday we head out!</span></div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Last thoughts on my mission... It's tough, because there really are a lot of things! I will miss the people that I got to know here the most. That's for sure. And I will miss speaking Hungarian. It will be weird hearing and speaking English everywhere I go! I am really gonna miss just being in Hungary. I've definitely felt tons of blessings though!! It's hard to put into words all the great experiences I've had! Obviously, there were bad ones too, but when I think back on my mission, I just feel happy for the opportunity I had to be here and serve! </span><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Honestly, it's hard to summarize my mission and bring it all together, but really, it has been a wonderful experience. I will always think back fondly on my time here in Hungary and hopefully I will be able to maintain relationships with people here for a long time! I feel like I have grown a lot and feel much closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My faith has been strengthened and I really feel a love for the gospel and for the people here! It has been an amazing time here! I can't wait to tell you all more about it when I get back!</span><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"> </span></div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">See you soon! Impressed that we made it this whole way!!!</span></div>

<div>
<br /><br /><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So yeah, I'm in Érd now. Great to be with Elder Ady from my group in the MTC and we'll be going home together! Things are actually going pretty well. The branch here is great, they were all super inviting and friendly and I already knew a few of them from Buda so that was cool! And the city isn't too bad. The bus system is pretty obnoxious, but there are some cool places and lots of cool people!</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">That's awesome that you got to meet with Elder TD! He wrote me earlier and asked for your number, but I didn't think he was actually going to be able to make it up there! I'm super jealous now that he got to see you guys before I did! It's pretty surreal how close it is now! It's weird I really just feel like I'm going to see you guys tomorrow! 4 weeks seems like such a short time it's unbelievable! I'm glad that you had a good time with Zen and his family. Wish I could have been there, but soon enough...</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">One of Andrew's mission companions (Elder Zen Tillemann-Dick) was visiting Bar Harbor with his family this past weekend and we had a fun impromptu get together in Agamont Park before they headed off to PEI. </span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">It's has been CRAZY HOT here the past couple days. Kind of been dying, but its alright! We will survive! And we don't have any AC or anything in our apartment, so it gets pretty toasty at night, but I suppose it could be worse! I don't know how those South American missionaries do it :P </span></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
The<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"> Euro cup is happening right now, and Hungary actually ended up doing pretty decent and people were SOOOOOO excited about it. Even in tiny </span> Érd<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"> they had giant screens projecting the games and everyone was really excited about it. They won the group they were in, but unfortunately, lost last night to Belgium. But that was probably the best they had ever done! So understandable that they were so excited.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Things are still going well here in Érd! Earlier in the week, we went to a members house with another missionary who was coming back to visit. He went home before I got here, so I don't know him, but I had heard of him. It was just cool talking with him about the mission a few years ago and what hes' been doing at home and stuff. And the member is super sweet, so we had a good time! We visited a few other members too. We went to this one families house, and they were super awesome. But they live on top of a hill a little ways out from where we are, so we had to take a bus out and then walk up this hill. I know, that probably doesn't sound too bad, but remember, I said it was REALLY hot this week. So the 20 minute walk felt like days in the desert and we arrived at their house pretty much drenched in sweat. Luckily, they had AC so we were able to cool down and we had a good time with them! They have 3 little kids, so we pretty much just played with them the whole time. It was fun! And then on Saturday, we had sport nap, and that family and another family in the ward came and borught all their kids. It was a little different than usual, given that there were probably 7 young kids and then us, but it was a good time! Once again though, incredibly hot....</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Other than that, nothing too interesting happened! We are wanting to meet with members a lot given we don't have a whole lot of time left, but there are some investigators we have too! There is one guy that we teach who just recently started coming back to church. He is a super cool guy and is really getting his life together. We have another guy too that we are teaching who wants to get baptized soon, so I guess we are going strong to the finish!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">No big plans for p-day. There actually really isn't anything to do in the city.... So we are going to a members in a little bit and probably just hanging out at there place and playing games or something. So nothing too exciting going on :P Anyway, it was great hearing from you and have a great 4th of July weekend! Tell everyone that I say hi and miss you all lots!</span></div>

<div>
<br /><div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Things are going fine here! Kind of same old...but we did have a good adventure this week! We took a little road trip with the senior elder here in the office! One of the missionaries washing machines broke, and a neighboring city's branch house was out of internet, so we took a little road trip! We loaded up the big mission van with the washing machine we had here in the storage and drove to Eger which is on the East side of the country. It was actually the first time I have ever been to the east, so that was cool! So we had our road trip, and then dropped off my companion, Elder Krueger, with the Senior couple in Eger, so he could get working on the internet (because he is a computer genius). Then, Elder Simkins and I drove to Miskolc, a relatively close by city to bring the washing machine. We ended up having to haul the thing up 4 flights of stairs. It wasn't the lightest washing machine, but we somehow managed to get it up there with the two of us and install it in the elders apartment. Miskolc wasn't super pretty, there were a few nice spots, but then we went back to Eger to meet up with everyone else. After a little bit, Krueger was able to fix the internet, so everyone was really happy there, and then we got to go get some lunch with the Petersons, the senior couple in Eger, the ones who know Jason! They are super nice and we talked with them for a little while. They are still in the same ward as Jason's parents I believe and they said they remembered when he was in young mens. Small world. We went to this palacsinta place (I feel like I have mentioned these before, but palacsintas are basically like crepes) which was super delicious. We also got to walk through the city a little bit which was really beautiful!!! I have a few pictures from the trip that I'll attach. We didn't end up getting back till about 6, and we left at 8 in the morning, so it was an all day excursion! Pretty exhausting, but it was fun! And cool to mix it up and get out of the office for a little bit.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Other than all that, everything was pretty much routine! Nothing too exciting, but tomorrow, we have this broadcast stake conference kind of thing at the stake center. I guess its just some sort of area broadcast, it's coming from Salt Lake. Not really sure what it's going to be or what it will be about, but it should be fun! Oh, and the sisters also have a baptism today, so we will be going to that! Should be good! But yeah, I really only have one more week in the office, which at this point, I am pretty excited about. I have liked it here, and am glad I had the opportunity, but it will be nice to get out at this point. After I get out of the office, I just have 5 weeks and then I'm on my way! Crazy stuff am I right?</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Anyway, hope you all have another great week Happy summer!!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We actually got to see a little concert :) One of those big outdoor festivals that they always have in Hungary and actually, one of our investigators was playing at it, and invited us to go check it out. He's a drummer and actually wayyyy good. Super cool guy. It was this Elvis cover band that was actually surprisingly good!!! It was hilarious though because all the everyone started swing dancing in the front and got way into it. Never knew Hungarians loved Elvis so much but I guess they do! It was cool. Lots of people and beautiful weather!</span><br />

Pizza just isn't the same out here! It's pretty dang cheap, but as I'm sure we all know, nothing matches up to Rosalies pizza! We're gonna be busy when I get back!!! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Well I have 9 weeks left from today. That's one transfer. Pretty crazy when you think about it! I really have been out here for a long time! It feels like this is my entire life, but it also feels like it flew by! Bitter sweet!</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">My week was good. I feel like I say this everytime, but pretty much same old! Stuff in the office was routine. My friend Mike from BYU went home this week, so that was weird!!! He's going to Singapore where his dad is mission president which is kind of interesting. We also had zone training this week which was fun. Some good stuff and they put on a conference talk and turned off the lights so we all got a little nap in there too! hahahaha. Oh, and a cool little thing for the week: The other day we were finishing up in the office and the weather was nice so we decided to go way out kind of to this random part of the city that is supposed to be pretty nice for some streeting (and a little bit of enjoying the sights) and this is literally a place that I have never been nor will I probably go again, but we get up there and then we are walking down the street, and I see one lady who looks familiar, and then I get closer and she yells out to me and says hi, and I'm trying to place who she is. Well, we go up and talk to her and then I remember she was one of my old investigators from when I was here in Buda the first time! So we talked for a little bit and she said she would like to meet with us again so hopefully we can meet with her next week! One thing I've definitely learned on my mission is that there aren't coincidences for a missionary. Which is pretty cool. God always works with us where we are and we never really know the full extent of his plan and what we might run into that day!!! I have had lots of instances like that running into people we know in random places. So, good to have someone behind the wheel of this work!!!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Other than that, stuff is just pretty routine. I probably only have a few more weeks in the office, I'm kind of excited to go back to being a normal missionary for a little while, but the office is still good, so no complaints! And I'm hoping I dont have to go too far for my last 5 weeks or at least go somewhere I've already been! That way I can at least do something! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, thats about it. There are people painting our apartment right now, so we are going to have to be out and about for pday. No plans, but maybe we will find something fun! Hope everything is going well for everyone back home!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Love you!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Thanks for all the birthday wishes! And before I forget to mention, yes I did get your birthday package! I actually got it last week, I just forgot to mention it in my email! So it arrived with plenty of time to spare! Definitely enjoyed it. Just some good ol classic American snacks. I have been trying to save the goods and sparingly eat them throughout the week, but last night I opened the goldfish, and went through the whole bag. I just couldnt stop!! </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">So yeah, I had a good birthday! You know I like things pretty low key! So the day was pretty much business as usual. Went into the office in the morning. Did normal work and what not. Later on in the afternoon though, we got to play a little basketball which was fun! I was pretty bad given it's been a while, but the weather was GORGEOUS (and still is, not to make you jealous) so that was lots of fun. And then we went out for dinner later and the sisters also brought me cupcakes, so that was actually lots of fun! I will still take a missionary birthday over finals on my birthday like I had in college, that's for sure! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Today wasn't anything too special either, but it was still good! We had sport nap (sorry, sport day) this morning and played some soccer and basketball, then after we went out to lunch with Sanyi, a member from Győr who moved up to Budapest a few weeks ago. And then we just kind of chilled out, so pretty nice. That's good that you guys are getting some nice weather as well! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So for a teaching experience of the week... Well, we actually had a good lesson with a guy we taught last week, and he agreed to get baptized next month, but then this week we met with him, and he said that now he has decided that he doesn't want to get baptized. So I guess that's not the best teaching experience, but that's what happened!!! Other than that, we have had some pretty standard programs, but have been in the office extra long because Pres. Szabadkai was out in Frankfurt for a mission president's seminar. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, I should probably get going. It's great to hear from you as always Anyway, have a great week everyone! </span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Chillin in the Office! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Most of you now know that Elder Dalton is serving as Mission Secretary in the office of the Hungary Budapest Mission. With the new office job he hasn't had as much to write about as his work is more routine. I've included some letters he's sent over the past few weeks in this post. I've also included pictures taken by Katy Susan Spitzer who visits Budapest and is kind to take pictures for me (because we all know that Elder Dalton has not been great about sending us pictures!)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So here are some updates from Hungary....</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">April 16</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Well it's transfer week and everything went fine. It's a lot of work for us here in the office, so it was a little stressful getting everything ready, but now things have quieted down again, so this next week should be pretty normal. Yeah, two left from our district. Elder Priest and Sister Hafen. Which I was sad about because I'm friends with both of them and I served with Priest, so it was fun being with him again, but we kind of knew that they were leaving. It will still be a good transfer!</span><div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> The weather has been super nice here recently! Spring in Hungary is definitely a lot more like spring than it is in Maine! I would have gladly gone swimming today! It was actually hot! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It is definitely weird coming up on my 21st birthday. Even weirder since I'm on a mission. Being on the mission just makes it seem like time stands still, and I don't get older and things don't change while I'm gone, but they totally do change and I am way older now! I definitely don't feel 21 yet, but I guess it will be cool! Not quite sure what I'll be doing, probably nothing too exciting. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">NBA playoffss! Should be fun! I heard that the Warriors broke the Bulls record for wins! Sounds like they are going to take it! The office senior missionary couple keeps me updated on some sports stuff, so that's been nice. Pday plans... We had sport nap this morning, played some soccer, and then we went with the senior couple to this American restaurant called Johnny's Bistro for lunch and it was AWESOME! Really good burgers and we got milkshakes as well. Just like you would find back home, so that was cool. Then we got a little lost on the way back. Other than that, we will probably just relax. Nothing too exciting! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Love,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Drew</span><div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">April 9</span></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So I know I am writing a lot later than usual because we actually had a ward hike today, and it ended up taking literally ALLLLL day. We left at 10 and got back at 6:30... It was really fun though! We didn't go that far (about 11 kilometers. I don't even know miles anymore :P ) When I say hike, it's actually just a walk through the woods, because we don't really have mountains here. We had to wait every 10 minutes for people to catch up but we got to this little look out tower which was cool. It was foggy, so we couldn't even see out far, but it was still really cool. Then we made a fire and cooked some stuff and had food and sandwiches. It was a fun time hanging out with the members, investigators and the other missionaries. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We actually have transfers this week (crazy!!!) but we were told we will most likely stay, so I'm not too worried about it. My comp is Elder Krueger and he is a really good guy and I like him a lot! It will be fun having another transfer! Office stuff is good. It can get boring sometimes, but there are some days when it is really not boring, and so I do like it a lot! I probably won't be here for the rest of the mission though. I have now, 1 and a half transfers, and so I will probably be in the office for another full, and then go somewhere for 5 weeks before I head out. So that will be cool. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Conference was good! I still haven't seen the Sunday afternoon session, but I read some of the conference summaries and it sounds like they were good! I watched all of them in Hungarian, I guess that's good for the last time, but it was really great and I understood a lot of it (when I was paying attention). Always fun having conference, but I am excited for my next conference to be in English! </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Yeah, Mom. I figured you were freaking out a little bit after the attacks, but seriously, Hungary is not a target at all. But they still have police and anti-terrorist people at the airport and metros, but I think we will be alright. And don't worry, I'm not planning on going to the airport for another 4 months. Yeah, really sad about those missionaries though. We get some updates on them from the office couple here, and my heart goes out to them for sure!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It's been super nice here and spring is totally here. I have been here for over 20 months! It's totally crazy! Can't believe how time goes by. Less than 4 months now. Office work has been going well! We have had more chill weeks with not too much going on which is actually pretty nice to have less stressful stuff going on. So still liking it a lot! Actually, the baptisms in the mission are going down a little bit, but hopefully we can have some more success coming up! Things have been going pretty well with us! We don't have too many people we meet with, but the ones that we do are really great! Hungarians do have a pretty big Easter here. I think it's a much bigger holiday here in Hungary than it is back home which is actually really nice. And they have this funny tradition where the guys spray the girls with perfume and then the girls give them an egg, cuz that totally makes sense! I just think it's funny and want to bring this tradition back to America!!! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, sorry gotta run now but I love you all lots! Hope you have a fantastic Easter and a great week! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Love,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Drew</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">March 19</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We had a mission conference recently with a general authority visiting. It was a pretty big conference. We got to go to the one for Budapest, which was actually a lot smaller than the others, because it was just our zone and all the other conferences were multiple zones, but it was still lots of fun. The 70 was a super cool guy and he talked about some really good stuff. I liked it a lot and it was probably my last big conference with a 70 or someone else coming from other places, so that's also kind of weird. Not much else to say though, we just kind of talked about how we can find people to teach more effectively. It was good! And these conferences were all in English because the 70 doesn't speak Hungarian. For some conferences, Pres has spoken Hungarian, and the rest of us just English, but I think he's been trying to do more in English so that the younger missionaries can get more out of it as well. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Hey guys!</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The week has been good so far and p-day last week was super fun! We went for a great hike, and I will include some pictures too! It was really cool because Hungary really doesn't have a whole lot of hiking opportunities. But it actually didn't take too long to get out to the mountains (hills). They are right next to the city. The weather here is still pretty nice and getting nicer. I'm just about ready for spring in full, but it has been taking it's time. I've still been wearing my winter coat around, but hoping to shed that pretty soon and enjoy the nice weather coming up! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">With the office work our time for daily studies and exercise is different. We go into the office at 8:30, so we have a little time for some of that study, but really not a whole lot, so it has been kind of tough adjusting, but we basically have a part time job along with normal missionary work, which really hasn't been too bad. I'm still liking it so far! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">As far as the missionary work, one family that we teach came to church last week so that was pretty cool! They are super awesome so we are excited about them. Other than that, things have just kind of been going along as normal. Today we are going to meet up with the APs and make a little bonfire somewhere and cook some hot dogs and s'mores. So should be a good day!!! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Note: Here's a couple weeks of updates from Andrew in just one post: </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Work is going well! This week was actually pretty interesting because my companion has been sick pretty much all week. He ate some sushi from the grocery store (he did not heed my warnings) and it just tore him apart. So we really haven't been able to do much. He either went with another elder (who also happened to be sick) and slept all day while I took care of office work, or he came in, and toughed it out and then we just went home and slept after. So yeah, it's been an interesting week, but he is feeling a lot better now! We do have regular missionary work to do in addition to work in the mission office. We have investigators and teach people. Still trying to get into the new routine and adjust after the transfer and get to know the people we meet with, but we have some solid people and I'm hoping to meet with some people that I used to teach when I was here before!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It was a lot of fun at church on Sunday as I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen for quite a long time! I'm really glad I came back to Buda! There are currently 8 missionaries in the ward. Us (the secretaries), the APs, the sisters and another companionship of elders. I actually like all the people as well so it's been fun! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">While my companion slept off his sushi, I went on splits and got to visit an awesome new convert! Elder Robinson (my trainer) taught her, so I had already heard a lot about her! She is such a sweet lady and cooked an amazing dinner too! This week went pretty well! Everyone is back to full health and luckily it seems I was able to avoid the sickness going around (don't want to jynx it though....). I will try and take some pictures in the office this next week to send to you guys, but I might forget again. I will do my best, I know I'm not great at taking pictures... For p-day we are actually planning on going for a hike! We're going with Elder Priest (my former companion from Kispest and yes he's serving in Buda now too!) and his companion and maybe a few members or something. I actually do know a lot of the missionaries in the district. Buda usually tends to be older missionaries, so most of the people I know, or even just am familiar with because I've been out for so long, so it's been fun so far getting to do some fun stuff with friends! There isn't anyone from the group I came out with, but all of them are within a couple groups around me. We also have an office couple in here with us. They're the Simkins and they are super awesome! They always bring us treats and stuff. So that's fun as well. The work is picking up a little bit. With transfers and illnesses, it's been kind of weird the past couple of weeks, but there is this super cool family that we meet with thats going to come to church this week! (hopefully) The son is 19 or so and they are really interested in the church, so that's cool! I'm also hoping to meet soon with some of the people that I used to teach, so we will see how all that goes!</div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I am praying for my friend Chris and his mom Sarah and the family. I do check on his site as much as I can which is nice, and I"m grateful to see he's making a lot of progress quickly! I am praying and thinking about them everyday. All we can do is trust in the Lord that everything will work out. </span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">
The weather has been pretty nice here. Like spring has already come. Some days, I don't need a jacket or anything. But then it usually rains and goes back to a little chillier, but I think the spring will be here quite soon! The weather is nice today, so we are gonna go out and enjoy it! </div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">
Hope you all have another great week Love you lots!</div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Sorry that I didn't get to write last week. Kind of got cheated out of a p-day last week. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Yeah, so I will update you a little bit on the past week, starting off with my last week in Pápa. Nothing too exciting really, just a lot of goodbyes. But we were actually in Győr for splits (yes, that was lots of fun, getting to see a lot of people before I left for good) and got to go to a baptism for a girl that I knew when I was there! She's a young girl and super sweet and I was really glad to see her get baptized! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We were at a game night at the branch house in Győr, when I got a call from President Szabadkai, and he said that I was going to be the new mission secretary and that I'm leaving on Sunday! I was pretty surprised and didn't see that one coming whatsoever, but excited too! I did have to leave out a few goodbyes planned for the next week, but we basically went back, met with a few people, I bore my testimony in church and then packed up and left! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So then the beginning of this week, I was getting trained by the secretary I'm replacing (one of my good friends on the mission), trying to learn all the stuff that I need to before he leaves. So we were pretty busy just figuring stuff out, but I think I got the hang of it! I'm really not super overloaded with work, but have enough to keep me busy. Basically, I am in charge of sending out letters and organizing everything for incoming and departing missionaries, managing apartment rentals, and inputting baptismal records. There are a few other things along with day to day tasks, but those are the big ones. But I actually like it a lot so far! Kind of nice getting a little change of pace! And I'm super pumped to meet with a lot of the people that I used to meet with when I was a greenie! It's gonna be awesome! And I'm actually in a trio (for the time being) with Elders Craig and Krueger. They are both cool guys and I like them a lot, but Craig is just staying a little bit to train Krueger more (he's also new) and then will probably leave at some point. So we will see what happens with that. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I'm also excited for church tomorrow because then I'll get to see a lot of members and people that I knew! Should be a really great time! I am pretty excited about it and hope it will be a good experience!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Oh, and winter is pretty much over. It has been a little colder recently and rained, but I still feel like winter is ending, which I am not mad about, because I am pretty ready for spring!!! And we don't really know what we're going to do with our pday today, since it's still raining, but we will try and find something fun in the big city! Maybe see some old friends as well! Oh and my p-days will now be on Saturdays. So look forward to that! Anyway, love you all lots and hope you have a great week!!!!</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Yes, I hit the 18 month mark! Pretty weird huh? Just 6 more months! I go back and forth though. Sometimes it seems like such a short time, and other times it seems quite long,</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Our week was good! Pretty uneventful as well, but I guess we got to do some fun stuff! We played some ping pong with one of our investigators and we went for a hike in a nearby village, so I guess it was a pretty fun week! Other than that, things are pretty standard though! I had to teach in priesthood, but it was simple, but still I always worry about having to teach in Hungarian! It's a lot easier to wing it in English, that's for sure! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The weather has been super nice over here! Like summer! We didn't need jackets or anything and we went the other day to play basketball with the kids that we visit sometimes, but it was just kind of playing around and having fun. I mean, I really haven't played serious basketball since I was back home! So I will be excited to hit up the Y when I get back!!! Some noon time or something! As for activities, not too much. If we want to do something fun, we usually invite some young people to a cafe or something and have hot chocolates and just hang out and talk. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Transfers are next week so we'll see where I go next. I wish I could stay longer, but changing is always good I suppose. I am ready and not ready. Weird, I know. This could be my last transfer. There are definitely places that I would like to go and places that I would not like to go, but I thought about it, and since I have kind of been in the same area my whole mission, I think I would like to stay in a ctiy close by, to make it a little easier for when we come back to travel around! But other than that, I'm not too picky. I would go anywhere!!! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"> Hope you all have a great week and love you lots!!!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hey everyone!!! Happy 2016!!! Hope that you all had an awesome New Years and that this year will be a great one! Who would have thought that 2016 was actually gonna get here! I know I didn't. Mission New Years are definitely not the craziest, but relaxing nights are good too! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> I think my time in Hungary has made me pretty wimpy, because it feels WAY cold out here!!! Seriously though! I am ready for spring already! I need to spend some more time back in Maine to get that warm Mainer blood back in me! </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Yeah, the weather has been pretty weird recently! So we got snow this week and it pretty much came out of nowhere but it was fun! Lots of snow quick and some mini snow ball fights. The snow really makes me feel like I'm at home, its weird! </span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Things in Pápa are pretty much the same. Nothing too exciting. We just started one of our investigators on a stop smoking program, so we will see how that goes. We are hopeful! Trying to work with a lot of the members still and the branch, which is awesome by the way. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> We also got to meet with the American family, so that is always fun to visit with them! I gave a prayer in English and totally kept stumbling over my words. It actually was hard for some reason! Hungarian does something to your mind!!! </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Oh, and I gave a talk in church this week too! I was a little worried about it when I first was working on it because I was supposed to talk for 20 minutes... I mean, you know that in English that wouldn't be too much of a problem, but in Hungarian, it was a different issue. But luckily, my ability to just talk for long times payed off and I even ran a little bit long, so I think it ended up alright! I spoke about missionary work. fitting, right? </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">We haven't been to the school the past couple of weeks because of the holidays, but we are going tomorrow, which should be fun! </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">We had English class again after a little break, so that was good.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">We also might actually have an opportunity to play some basketball over here in Pápa though, so thats cool! At some school or something. Maybe this week or the week after, we will see. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> I guess the snow was the big thing of the week. And it was funny, cuz the Hungarians were freaking out about it and how dangerous and slippery it was, and I'm like, please, it's just a sprinkle. We go to school in stuff like this.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Good luck to the Pats! Give me a play by play next week!</span></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Love you all and hope you have a great week! Miss you lots!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">So yes, transfers are tomorrow and the big news is..... I am staying in Pápa for Christmas!!! And I am getting a new comp! Elder Stanley! I am way pumped about it because we served around eachother in Pest! He was Wilcox's greenie! So it is going to be awesome and we are stoked! Should be a good Pápa Christmas! No need to feel sorry for us. Christmas was awesome last year and it is going to be a great one this year too! </span></div>
<div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Things in Pápa are going really well! I could have sworn I mentioned the hike! It happened a couple of weeks ago. If I didn't... then we went on a hike, and it was really nice and pretty and we saw a castle! Went with the branch, so that was cool!!! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"> We do have bikes! And I crashed on it the other day :P You know my history with bikes! I don't know why I am so bad on them! It wasn't bad at all, I didn't even get scrapped up or bleed anywhere, but I did mess the bike up a little bit. I hit the curb and it threw the tire crooked and then flipped me over it. Nothing bad, just embarassing... It was in the middle of a big intersection. But pretty comical! Other than that everything is normal. We had a pretty average week. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Oh, I FINALLY got to watch Meet the Mormons. They put it out in Hungarian a couple weeks ago and we watched it with the branch (in Hungarian, so not quite the same, but I got most of it) and it is really good! I liked it a lot! Really cool stories about the people! And I got a little sad too when they were talking about the missionary.... I didn't cry (like some people...) but I do miss you guys a lot! </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The weather has been way nice here too! We had a day where it was like, probably 50 or so degrees out, and people were still complaining about it, and I was like, for December this is amazing! Back home we go swimming in this weather!!!! Christmas time is absolutely gorgeous here in Hungary. Pápa is pretty nice, but we went to Gyor for splits again this past week and it was amazing! They had lights all over the city and they had big stands set up every where, a skating rink in the square, and the town hall was all decked out with lights! The lights and all the stands are really awesome!!! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Anyway, some interesting stuff for the week: First of all, we went to a members house this week, and ate what is commonly referred to as pig jello. So basically, they take all the left over parts of the pig (ears, legs, etc.) and get all the fat and juices out of them, and then turn it into a gelatine. Then they put some meat in the middle of this jello, and put it in the fridge. I normally like most things, well it wasn't quite as bad as it may sound... This past week was the Hungarian St. Nicholas day! (Mikulás Napja) I probably said this last year, but just as a reminder, here in Hungary, Santa doesn't bring the presents, but the baby Jesus does! So they celebrate Santa on the 6th! And so we were in Győr on Friday and went to a Mikulas party there and then back in Pápa on Saturday for the party there! So that was lots of fun!!! Other than that, things are pretty much normal! We got my bike fixed so everything is now going smoothly! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">We have also been using some new Christmas cards that we got and it is great now! A lot more people are open to the message of Christ in the Christmas season! The Savior is born!!! </span><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1880674091337346687#editor/target=post;postID=1543277450951106667" target="_blank">A Savior is Born</a> <span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Love you all and hope you have a fantastic week! Only a couple more weeks and then it's Christmas!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hey there! </span><div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is probably one of my favorite days of the year! Plans for us are currently none. Sadly, it won't be like last year with the Turkey bowl, since it's just us, but we are hoping that we will get to go somewhere for dinner or something and have a good time. But it looks like we might be having a pretty normal day for Thanksgiving out here! But hope you all have a great time! Family, food and football? Where could you possible go wrong?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">My comp and I are doing well. Same old same old. We have a lot more programs for the next week, so the work is actually going really well! This week we had a guy randomly call us and say he wants to learn more about our church which was super awesome! Believe me, that RARELY happens, so you gotta take those tender mercies where you can! And I just ended up talking to another guy here at the library for a while and we are going to meet with him sometime as well! So we are pretty excited about stuff coming up! </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> We were pretty busy (relative to Pápa) with a lot of stuff going on. Also, my bike tire blew up at a rather inconvenient time, so we were walking around a little bit more than usual. But everything was good through out the week. We had a zone conference in Győr which was cool. Got to see some mission friends and a few more people from Győr (including Janka, which was great!) Other than that it was just kind of the normal stuff! I know that's probably not what you like to hear, but sometimes (most of the time) there just isn't that much interesting stuff that is going on! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">K, gotta run now, hope that everyone has a great week! Go Pats!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We're already almost half way through November and then it will be Christmas time! Exciting! The sun has been out the past couple of days and you wouldn't even need a coat or anything. Pretty weird in the middle of November! I'm sure the cold and the snow will be coming soon. <span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">This week we had a baptism which was super awesome! </span> The woman's name is Kriszta and she is the wife of one of the members here in Pápa and has been waiting a long time to get baptized and has finally been able to. There was only a few of us there, because we have to go down to Győr for it, but afterwards we went back to Pápa for a little branch party! The members had decorations and a bunch of snacks and treats and it was a lot of fun! The branch is awesome and they were super welcoming-it was great to see them being so loving. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">We also may have a stalker..... trying to avoid that situation. More updates later. </span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Other than that things are going well here! </span>It is a lot of fun going to visit the kids over at the school and I think we are going to be doing something with them for Christmas, so more updates on that later. As for the orphans, we weren't able to go over there this past week, but we are hoping to next week! I think they enjoy it! It's pretty hard for them and they are pretty troubled. Some kids 12 years old and already smoking. Pretty sad, but they don't have a strong family, which makes it harder! Really grateful for having such an awesome family. This week my Dad asked me what I typically eat so in case anyone else is interested...</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">as far as what we eat at the apartment it's mostly pretty basic stuff. You will have to wait till I get back to EXPERIENCE Hungarian food, but it's actually really good!!! We usually don't do anything special just sandwiches, pasta, meat, throw stuff together and see what comes up. But some of my favorite Hungarian foods are fruit soup (basically like a smoothie you eat out of a bowl with whole chunks of fruit in it), rakott krumpli (stacked potatoes. it's like, layers of potatoe, kolbász, hard boiled eggs, cheese and tejföl (kind of like a sour cream thing, but not that sour), and paprikás csirke (chicken in a peppered tomato sauce). There's a lot more good stuff, but those are my personal favorites! </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"> I'm grateful to be out here in Hungary serving a people that I have really grown to love! It's a real blessing for me to be out here and I know that the Lord watches over us and loves us. </span>I have definitely come to love the Book of Mormon and the Bible a lot more on my mission and really enjoy the opportunities that I have to study and think about the people, the stories, and what it all means! <span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"> I am also thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers from back home and all the support. I love you all and hope you have a great week! </span></span></div>

<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Wassup!</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Pápa life is going well, despite not having the most successful week of all time. We went out tracting a lot, which is always kind of a bummer, but there was some cool stuff that happened! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We got to go to Győr this week for a Zone Conference, so not only was I able to meet with some of my friends from around the mission, but I also got to visit with a lot of my friends from Győr! After the conference, we went on splits with the Zone Leaders for the day, so we met up with Janka, and a couple of the other people from the English class here, and had a good time with them! Kellogg (my old companion from Győr) was also at the conference and he stayed after as well to meet with them so it was really just like old times!!! Then we spent some time with Erik, one of the kids, and in the evening went over to Éva's. I was super excited to see all those people and we had a really good time meeting with them and seeing old friends!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">There is some cool stuff going on here in Pápa though! We actually go to this school for mentally disabled kids every week and teach them English. They all are super enthusiastic and really fun and they love having us over! Really great to do stuff like that! And then this week we also found this house for orphan teenage kids and talked with them, and planned to go visit them too and teach some English and play some games or soccer with them. I always love doing things like this to help people who have so little in their lives. It is always an amazing feeling to be a part of something bigger than yourself and help make other people happier! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Other than that, things are pretty normal. We had Branch conference on Sunday, leaders from the district presidency came, and even the mission president and his wife came to the little branch here in Pápa! We had some really great meetings with them! Also, there is a NATO base close to Pápa (dont know if I mentioned that or not) so we actually run into quite a few people who speak English. An American Mormon family just got to Pápa and were at church on Sunday, and will be living here for the next two years, which will definitely be cool having them around! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, things are good here in Magyarország and I hope everything is going well with all of you back home! Love you all and wish you the best! Oh and happy Halloween! They dont have that here... kind of sad, so enjoy it for me! Love you all and have a great week!</span></div>

Sorry for missing so much, but things have been busy over here. Hoping to be better about it soon. But anyway, here's a little update on what's new:</span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We're coming up on 2 weeks here in Pápa now. It was pretty sad leaving Kispest, as that was definitely one of my favorite areas so far, but I'm just about settled in over here now. This past week was interesting I guess. We got dogged a lot (when we plan a program with someone, and then they just don't show up or aren't home or something) which was pretty frustrating... And that also means that we spent a lot of time tracting, but we tried to make the most of it and had a good time! But we also met with some pretty cool people this week. There is this one guy named Marcel that we met with who is from South Africa and is married to a Hungarian. He is a super cool dude and probably is one of the most jacked people that I have ever seen. Elder Jensen and I would both get distracted sometimes in the program looking at how huge his arms were.... But a really cool dude.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">There is also a NATO base here in Pápa, so there are some random areas where there are big groups of Americans and people from other countries who speak English perfectly. We found this one guy from Sweden and talked with him for a while. He said they can feel some animosity from the people in Pápa as they are kind of seen as outsiders. But we're hoping to run into some more Americans next week, it's always nice to take a Hungarian break...</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Other than that, not too much exciting happened. Things are going well and we're actually looking at having a baptism in the next couple of weeks. The wife of one of the members of the church here in Pápa. I guess we will see how that goes.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hope that everyone is doing well back home! Always enjoy hearing form people and how life is back in the states! Love you all and have a great week!</span></div>
<div>

<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Another awesome week here in Kispest! My new companion is super awesome and we get along really well! Still always kind of weird having to adjust, but he is really chill, so things are going well. As for the week, it was pretty normal. We spent A LOT of time cleaning our apartment (yes, it was quite messy before) and now it looks really good. Other than that, English class started back up again this week which was fun. Good to see some of the people again and I actually always enjoy teaching the class. Just fun to tell lots of jokes and have fun with it and all the old nénis love it.</span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"> T</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">here is lots of crazy stuff with all the refugees and what not, but we honestly just hear about it. All the train stations are totally full, but we don't really have to go that way too</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"> much, so we don't see much of it. But we did see 5 cops in full swat gear walking near one of the train stations. But really other than that, just EVERYONE talks about it. Every program we go to or every person always asks us what we think about all the refugees, and we're always like, well it's sad, but we don't really know anything about it.</span></span></div>
<br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Yesterday for P-day we had a lot of fun! So we went to the zoo with all the other missionaries from Pest, and actually the zoo was pretty lame. You would think the Budapest zoo would be a lot cooler, but there weren't even that many animals. But it was still a lot of fun. But anyway, the best part was that they combine</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; letter-spacing: 0px;">d the zoo with this old amusement park and we went to a fun house. Which was way lame. BUT at the end, they had this giant barrel thing that you go in, and then you run up the side and it spins around. Not sure if you know what I'm talking about, but anyway, it was way fun. Somehow, you just get dizzy trying to run up it, and then you totally eat it and it keeps spinning around just tossing you all over the place. So we had a good time. </span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">THEN, after that we were heading back home, and in one of the metro stations, we heard some people playing music, so we go in and find another Christian group just trying to spread some joy. So we hung out for a little and listened to the music, and then we asked them if we could maybe play a little bit with them, so we struck a deal. Me and one of the Elders could play some songs (he's really good at guitar and singing, and I just hit a little box) but we had to do the cupid shuffle with them. So imagine 8 missionaries plus a bunch more Americans doing a big group dance in the middle of a Hungarian metro station. It was honestly super fun! </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, things are going good over here! Hope everything is great back home! Love you all and hope that you have a great week!</span></span><br />

<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Sorry that I haven't been as great about making blog posts the past couple of weeks, and no promises that this one is going to be much better than nothing, because I still don't have a lot of time, but everything is still great out here in the nagy falu of Budapest! Really, the work is just going really well out here. We have a good number of programs, and have found a few pretty cool people as well! We also had yet ANOTHER crazy storm. This wasn’t quite as bad as the first one of the transfer, </span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">there wasn't a ton of lightning, but literally just crazy down pours. The roads were totally flooded and we got soaked and</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"> we we</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; letter-spacing: 0px;">re totally drenched coming home, wading through water calf high on the street. So that was fun, and luckily everything was actually dry in our apartment, despite h</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">aving only a </span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; letter-spacing: 0px;">blanket for one of our windows. </span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; letter-spacing: 0px;"> Things are going well with all the people that we are meeting with. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">We met a few new people. There was this one family that we met eating ice cream on the steps of the branch house that we talked to and they invited us over for dinner sometime in September, so that was really cool. And we met some people tracting and streeting and what not, but one thing, is that for about ever 50 potentials, we maybe meet with one, and if they end up being legit, that is really a miracle. but things are going really well with the work actually. We had this really sweet old Catholic lady come to church this week which was good, and this one family that we are meeting with, the daughter, about age 17 is really considering baptism, and we're hoping the rest of her family can start thinking about it seriously as well. </span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">We have a few more people that are working towards baptism, which would be super great!</span></div>
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">For P day we had a lot of programs and stuff, but when we had free time, we just went around town a little bit seeing some sites. I have basically seen all the good sites by this point, but I still get amazed every time I walk past the </span>parliament<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"> building even though that's just an everyday sight for us now</span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; letter-spacing: 0px;">. Hope that you all are doing well back home and surviving the summer months better than I am out here. Miss you all and hope you have a great week! </span></div>

<br /></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Things in Kispest are going well. To answer some of your questions, we actually play basketball with the other guys almost every morning, and with some of our investigators too, which is pretty good exercise, but I'm definitely not in the best shape of my life.</span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> It's kind of weird not having English class, but it's good. We have more time to focus on other thigns, so we will see how it works! </span></span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">We have made some progress with some of the people we meet with, a few families, which is totally awesome, but other than that we are still just plugging along trying to get the people we are teaching moving along. </span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We are actually teaching some really cool families right now! There is one mom with three little kids that we teach. </span></span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Another is a mom and son (around 18) who are super cool. We go play bball with the son sometimes. He's really good and a super nice kid. Then there is another family that we teach, Mom and Dad and two kids who are progressing really well. They just came to church for the first time yesterday and really seem to be enjoying it! Other than that we have just a few single people that we meet with, all really cool!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Scripture study is going well. Just mostly trying to get through the Book of Mormon in Hungarian. Pretty easy to get distracted reading other stuff </span>that's <span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">in English and more understandable, but I can just about understand most things now, which is pretty cool, and I'm hoping I can finish it some time in the near future. We have also been focusing on using scriptures in our lessons more effectively, so I've really been trying to focus more on what programs we have for the day and what they need, as opposed to just reading through. </span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Yeah, Hungarian is definitely a lot more manageable now, but don't get me wrong, it is still incredibly hard... I still sometimes have no idea what people are saying. Actually, yesterday in church, there was a guy from New Hampshire! He said he knew Justin Millis really well and that he had been up to Ellsworth before and been to church. I can't remember his name though... sorry always bad at that. I had to translate for him in sacrament meeting, and it is incredibly hard to do that, especially in church. </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Anyway, really great to hear about all the fun things everyone's doing </span>back<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"> home! Have a great week! Love you!</span></span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">One year, check! So as of last Thursday, I have officially been a missionary for an entire calender year. Almost impossible to imagine that it has actually been that long, but it has been an amazing journey! I am so grateful for this time that I have been able to spend here serving the people of Hungary! I have now been able to travel to 4 different cities (and now seen almost all of BP) and make lots of amazing friends that have really impacted who I am. Most of all, I have had the chance of helping, at least a few people, find a better and happier life. I would first like to thank all of you at home who are supporting me and watching out for my family! I know that I have lots of people who are following my adventures out here and wishing me the best. I appreciate and am grateful for all of your love even if I don't always have time to express it as I wish I could. But thank you! Especially to all those back home in the Ellsworth Branch! I'm thankful for all the support and all the prayers that I receive from all of you! Keep being awesome and keep growing! There really is nothing greater then sharing the love of God with those you care about! So keep working!!! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Next, thank you to all the amazing people that I have met out here in Hungary. Missionaries and more importantly the Magyarok themselves. I have learned a lot from this people and really feel connected with them. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve them and come closer to the people, lifestyle and culture (and food.... it's so good). Hungarian is quite a tough language, but I have learned to love it, as it has helped me understand the Hungarian people more fully. I thank you all for being the amazing people that you are! It has been a pleasure to spend time with all of you and I am excited to spend another year with you!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Sorry, I don't have enough time to upload any pictures, but hopefully in the coming weeks! Love you all and hope you have a great week! Keep it real and enjoy the summer! Love you lots</span></div>

But things are going super well in Kispest! Kind of weird going to a new area, but love the people here. Also, there was a massive storm that we got caught in and all of our windows broke in our apartment because there were such crazy winds. So that was a pretty decent first day coming home to an apartment filled with glass. We still haven't been able to get it all because we have no vacuum, but we got most of the big stuff and put some blankets on our now empty windows. </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So other than that, things are super awesome over here! Cool to be in the big city again, but there are also a lot more homeless people trying to bother us, which I got pretty used to not having in some of my other cities, but you get used to it pretty fast again. We're also playing a lot of basketball recently which is pretty awesome. </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Yeah, really no time, my computer is about to shut down, but more updates next week! The work is great here, we are meeting with some awesome people. Really miss everyone in Sopron, but this is where I need to be, so I guess that's good! </span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Love you all and hope you have a great week. Talk to you next time</span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Love,</span></span><br />

So after 5 weeks in Sopron, unfortunately, I have to leave. But I will be going to Kispest, which is in BP which will be super cool to be back in the big city again. Kind of sucks to leave after such a short time though, but all well, it will be good!!! </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> But anyway, we had a super awesome (last) week in Sopron. So to start off, we got our new mission president this week! We had a surprise conference in Győr on Thursday, but before we get to that, there was some exciting events the night before. So we were back in our apartment, it was getting pretty late, and then I get a call from the other elders here in Sopron, and SOME RANDOM GUY BROKE INTO THEIR APARTMENT!!! They were both in bed, and then they heard the door open, and the light turn on. They run out and see this totally random guy just standing in the door way. They make (rather awkward) eye contact, and then the guy runs downstairs. The other elders actually live in the branch house, so they went to make sure all the doors were locked, and a couple bathroom doors were open. So then we had to come over to help them make sure he isn't hiding in one of the stalls trying to murder us or something. So if you can imagine 4 Elders all standing around with knives at 10 o'clock at night, busting down bathroom stalls. So it was a pretty eventful night.</span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So then the next day, we got to go to Győr for our first conference with our new mission president, Pres. Szabadkai, and it was awesome. Firstly, it was ALL in Hungarian, which was super awesome. And he is a super great guy, and it was really great talking to him. And it was in Hungarian!!! So we're all super excited about it. </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We had a little 4th of July party at Tibors house and it was awesome. We had sausage in the morning (real Austrian sausage and it was FANTASTIC) then we cooked Gulyas soup, and topped it off with some s'mores!!! No we don't have hersheys or graham crackers, but we made it work. I'll try and send some pictures next week because I forgot my card reader. But it was a super awesome time!!! </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span><br /></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Alright, I don't have a whole lot of time, but hope you all have a great week! Next week I will let you all know how things are going in Kispest! Wish me the best of luck!</span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Miss you and love you all! </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">

The Volt festival is going to be HUGE! Really, like, people tell us that the streets are just going to be packed and the whole city is going to explode, so that will be cool, and I would think that during concert festivals and stuff, people are more willing to chat on the street. So we're excited about that! Other than that, our week was pretty normal. </span><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Actually, interesting story, the other day, we were coming back to our apartment, and we heard a bunch of music coming from the Főtér (like, the main square) and we swung through to check out some more festivities going on getting ready for the big festivals. Well, we were walking through, and then we sat down for a minute to watch some stuff, and then this little girl fell off a statue right behind us and hit her head on the concrete. It wasn't super high, but it was a big fall. We ran over, and it took like, a minute or so before her Mom finally noticed and ran over, but I didn't really know how to react. Kind of tougher in a foreign country as a missionary being able act in those situations, but they took her to the ambulance parked by, and she ended up being fine. But it was kind of freaky.</span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We met with a few more new people, trying to build up some work, that have some solid promise. There is one lady that used to meet with the missionaries and was almost baptized, but then she didn't and stopped meeting. We went to her house and met with her and her daughter, and she seemed interested in learning about the church again, so that would be cool! We also met with this guy who used to be a pro basketball player in Pécs, and he is super cool. Single dad with two daughters, and he wants to come back to church, just a lot of tough things going on in his life. But a way cool guy. Also the district presidency came to church this week, and we met with them brainstorming ideas for how to help the branch, so we have a lot of hope that things are going to be good over here! I really appreciate the support though because there are definitely some days that I need it. And it helps me to know that you are all supporting me and loving me back home! </span></span><br />
<div style="min-height: 17px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"></span></span></div>
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I have met the new mission president! He is from Pécs and the whole family is totally awesome. He is a really good guy and I think he is going to do a really good job getting stuff going here in hungary. We're all excited to see what kinds of changes he makes and how things will work. Exciting stuff! </span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> Thanks for all the support back home and hope you all have a HAPPY 4th of July!!! </span></span><br />
<span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!! </span></span><br />

Another week here in Sopron and things are awesome! This city is beautiful and there is a lot of super awesome people!!! So first off, there are a bunch of festivals and stuff going on right now across town, which is super fun! We actually live right in the middle of town, and just down the road they have the main square where all these stands and music and stuff is. That one picture is actually of some traditional hungarian dance. It's basically a bunch of stomping and slapping your shoes and stuff. Kind of what you would imagine traditional folk dance to be like, but google it if you're curious! But it's always a lot of fun with all the stands up and in a few weeks there is the Volt Festival, which is the huge concert festival (and yes, I do wish I was going) so the streets are going to be packed! I think it's sometime in July.</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We also got the chance to go to Budapest on Wednesday, which was a lot of fun. Well, some of it. We did have to get up around 4:30 to catch our 6 o'clock train, and didn't get back to Sopron till about 9, but other than that it was incredibly long, it was fun! I got to see a lot of friends from around the mission, and had to say goodbye to a few people, including the mission president! Kind of weird, but also exciting to see the change. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I'm excited to see what it's like to have a Hungarian mission president, so that will be a lot of fun.</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> I also had to say goodbye to my trainer, Elder Robinson, because he leaves in a few weeks and I probably won't get to see him again. So weird how people go home, but I guess the time comes for everyone eventually. Speaking of which, in 1 month, I will officially have been out for a year! Can't believe it's already gone by so fast! </span></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, other than that, there really isn't too much exciting stuff going on. This was kind of a tougher week, because we got dogged a lot, but it's ok, because as you can see we're getting creative and going out with some sweet guitar tunes and GIANT Book of Mormons. So hopefully we can find some more really cool people!</span></div>
